look how the form grows out a narrow base. Also notice the many directions of the coils.

In this project the form is clearly defined and the shape of the swirled coils is reflected in the negative spaces. The edge has a lot of movement and breaks out of an expected shape.

remember - you have three dimensions to design in -
overall form (3-d shape)

surface pattern & design - this includes negative space, size of coils and if they go in or out.
and edge - how the projects ends. Breaking the plane always helps make the project more interesting.

remember -

- start with a narrow base

- pull up in phases - top, middle and base so you don't make the top heavy and cause the project to go off center.

- choke each time after you pull up, this will keep it from getting wide.
