finishing the tiles

smooth out your tile and put on finishing details.

- apply green and blue stain to bring out details

-put on a coat of clear glaze - carefully so as not to smudge it
and put it on the shelf.

-make sure you wash all tools and your table. If you are finished early then we need to work on the floor in the back and other tasks as assigned. Durring exam periods we will wash the floor in back and then a surprise. :) Also you should be able to see your finished tile by then.

step one - make a 5" square out of either sea mix or red clay
Please make sure you are working on a sheet of construction paper

step two - plan and or draw your basic design

step three - start building your tile by adding and or subtracting clay. use stamps, carve, make texture
MAKE YOUR MARK ON THE FUTURE!
AND don't leave your mark on the tools - clean up your tools
yes, you get a grade for this!!

we are going to make some awesome tiles to take to the new school--
Day one think about some designs on paper
requirements -
size 5" x 5"
you can use two colors of clay - red clay/white clay
make bas relief
and you can use green, blue and black stain.
on it -- name, grad year, something you like and or love
your own personal logo!!
