looking forward to your next assignment ... Thurs & Friday

4/22/2015

please make sure you are finished with your painting and have it posted on your grading blog with a paragraph  by Friday. Make sure the photo you worked from is on your working blog.

write this  assignment on your white sheet as well as what you have gotten done.

write the assignment below in on Friday's space - abridge as necessary to fit. Use your ipad to read it.

Up next - thinking about limited color - looking at Dutch landscape paintings. Notice - your painting will not look exactly like this - however, it will have  similar color scheme.

Picture

For your next assignment take a landscape photo - make sure it has
 - a foreground,
- middle ground,
- background
- and sky.
In other words it needs to have something somewhere in the image that is close up, something that is a little bit away and something in the distance as well as a sky.

using the same photograph edit it in the photo program of the iPad and choose the change the color setting option - chose sepia.  You need to put this photo on your working blog.

Make a painting of it only using red, green, white or peach and black  paint. (Not a lot of white so to make colors lighter use more water and make them transparent.  Use the large paper and the tempera paints.
Notice - green and red paint make brown so that's okay to add. Need the end you can a little bit of blue and yellow - but it should be very dull in color. It should also have many layers of transparent colors. so Remember as always start with big shapes and light colors and build up to details. Using the drawing program with your photo can be helpful.

Note also second semester students have not done this yet, so all students will be making this painting. second semester students should have a level of detail that is higher than beginning students.
