Beginning -

Plan on finishing this drawing by Monday. Make sure you have a variety of shapes and sizes of polygons and that you have an all over composition.

Art and Design

Finish and document your line drawing. write a summative paragraph.
Google - Abstract Expressionism
What similarities do you see between that work and your drawing?

As you asses your drawing look for -
dark and light lines
variety of shapes and sizes are design elements
use of positive and negative space on your page
- are there layers of space?

Think about - what kind of composition do you want to have? How does the drawing feel? What mood, ideas, or feelings does it express?

Start with a practice drawing today on news print.

Do a final drawing on 12"x18" white paper. (don't be fooled by the 11x17" stuff... ask me)
Make sure you measure off a 2" design space in the exact middle of each side so we can connect the images into a collage.

Make sure you have populated your vocab page. you can work together on this, however I'd love to see a variety of images

assignment - using line, and line only create a detailed drawing showing
movement. Search 'op art'.

Finishing the semester

Make sure you post photos of your two paintings and write a summative paragraph about them.

Currently, there is no rubric, however make sure you have and write about the basic ideas of the assignment

background layers lighter and smaller than foreground layers - and in one color family. Layers of blue.

paint general to specific - light to dark.

You are creating layers of flat shapes which become dimensional forms with the addition of bright details. These details should add the color to the painting and show the form by describing the surface.

Make sure you have looked at the links and are using details as Evyind Earle would.

Google Evyind Earle and look at his paintings. He was the artist behind the style of Sleeping Beauty and many other movies.

you need the image of each cut out design.
In a paragraph underneath each image you will need to
write a summative paragraph describing the image.
-How do the colors interact?
- What is the realationship between the colors? (compliements, analogous, same or different value but different hues....)
is the design -
symetrical or asemetrical
straight edges or curves
figurative or non-figurative
narative or non-narative.
