Looking at your hall drawing - describe how you are making space - besides using perspective. Be specific.

By today you should be getting to your final paper. You will want to work both in the hall from 'life' as well as in the room by using your photos.

How do you start a perspective drawing of the hall - what do you need to draw first? What do you need to do second?

(for one point - put in the rectangle that will be the back "wall" - find the vanishing point.
for two point. find the edge that determines the walls, find the two vanishing points - they may be off your paper.)

NOTE - you need to plan with your table mates about how to make your drawings link together.

Today we will do a sketch of the hall and figure out some logistics. That needs to be posted on your working blog with a photo of your location by Tomorrow - Wednesday. By tomorrow you should be working on your final drawing - that should be finished no late than Tuesday next week. pd. 2 has an assembly on Monday.

using art and design elements as well as adjectives describe the composition of each drawing. Why are they different, why are they the same?

The large shapes and bold linear textures  create a shallow space and emphasize the large flower. The flower itself seems to float right on the picture plane with the smaller flower right behind it. There is no sense of any real space behind that. The many textures describe the surface of the flowers and keep the drawing active.

The use of lines in two point perspective creates a sense of deep space That pulls our attention to the right center line. The contrasts in value describe the light coming in from the outside which increases the sense of depth. The different textures help describe the different surfaces in the building, the rug, tiles and metal lockers and help create the planes of space. The image seems frozen in time and space.
