Create a picture worth more that words - make a picture with pencil on white paper that expresses a specic idea, mood and/or feeling about your experiences on Sunday! This is for all students! Have fun with it!

2/4/2014

Today, using paper and pencil create an image that conveys an idea -

Using figurative images, symbols words, shapes, lines and pattern along with any other design an art elements (this is a link so look at it please), that you made a list of at the beginning of the semester, create a whole page composition on 11x17" white paper (in drawer) that describes your experience on Sunday.

it should express any ideas thoughts and/or mood that you had on that day, whether it had to do with the Superbowl or not.

The question is can you create an image that uses art elements like pattern movement, emphasis, see list - make sure you click here!, that can specifically describe your feelings and/or thoughts about a specific thing.

This artwork should be narrative - it should use specific symbols, it should use figurative elements (don't worry about how well you draw - do you best), but it cannot use words.

You should, however, write on the back, in a sentence, exactly what you were trying to express. The test will be to see if other people can, in fact, interpret your picture and understand what you're trying to say. Can you communicate clearly with an image?

You can communicate with people at your table, but not other tables - that way we can actually see if people can guess what you're trying to express but you can also try out your ideas with people on your table.

You have only one period to work on this, and you should use the entire period. You may start on a piece of newsprint for a rough draft, however you must finish in the period.

Artwork will be judged on

- completeness and careful execution, i.e. it is not just scribbled out - student actually took the entire class time period to do focused work on it.

-contains a variety of images and art elements and principles clearly

-clearly communicates a specific message
