On your working blog should be | criteria for choice line drawing |
Make a note on your work log about how you are creating space in your drawing.
|
** If you did not do the questionnaire from the first day - |
Many assignments have specific rubrics and scales -
and there is a generic one - they are listed below the 2d art tab under the tab - 2D scales and the tab - rubrics.
in general we are looking for five things
Follow guidelines of the assignment
apply new skills fully and expressively
Use art & design elem to express and idea
format/materials - uses the materials correctly
Unified & intentional projects that express the artists intention
Ideally we will finish our first drawing at the end of the period and be ready to post it on Thursday with a paragraph.
Next - take a photo and put it on your working blog of layers of foliage that will be your next line drawing. Be thinking of what you want your choice line drawing to be.

How do we make things come forward in SPACE with line?
-Value - darker lines come forward
-overlap - lines on top come forward
-size - larger marks come forward
(the text above is today's main idea -- this goes on your notes, the yellow sheet.)
What are the upcoming assignments?
1. a sketch needs to get posted on your working blog, probably the sketches for your line drawing. And your site needs to be set up and functioning. (by Thursday)
2. The first line drawing needs to be finished and posted on your grading/finished work blog.
* (we need to think about what that should look like so we will talk about how to do that on Wednesday...) (by Friday)
3. The second drawing - which will be a line drawing of overlapping foliage from a photo you take on your device or an Ipad. (due 9/8) there should be a sketch or image in process on your working blog before you finish it.
4. The third finished drawing will be a line drawing, still contour, but you chose the image. due 9/14 there should be a sketch or image in process on your working blog before you finish it.
Then we start on VALUE
we need to determine the difference between what we see versus what we think about what we see!
to learn to draw then we need to learn to see 2d shapes in a 3d world
and
we need to learn drawing skills.
stuff to do today --
work on your drawing and make a website!
